| Abstract |
The input-parallel output-parallel LLC resonant converter is an effective approach to meet high-power requirements by paralleling multiple low-power LLC resonant converter modules. However, when the resonant tank parameters of the paralleled modules are not identical, current imbalance occurs, which leads to efficiency degradation and potential device failure. This paper proposes a novel integrated magnetic structure to address the current imbalance issue. This proposed structure combines four magnetic components (two resonant inductors and two transformers) of two LLC resonant converter modules into a single magnetic core, without requiring any additional magnetic elements dedicated to current balancing. Moreover, the proposed structure enables inherent current balancing without the need for any auxiliary control techniques. A 2 kW hardware prototype that incorporates the proposed integrated magnetic structure is implemented, and its effectiveness in mitigating current imbalance is experimentally verified under open-loop conditions. |
